Silas Adekunle is a 27-year-old Nigerian-British CEO and Founder of Reach Robotics. Graduating with a 1st class degree in Robotics, from the University of the West of Englad, Adekunle has a background in robotics. He managed the Prince’s Trust’s “Robotics in schools” program in Bristol in partnership with UWE for 4 years, leading a team of engineering students into schools to develop the interest of young students in STEM through robotics. Reach Robotics was founded from his love of creating and sharing robotics with people both young and old.

Reach Robotics has developed an augmented reality platform, Mekamon, that combines with robotics to bring video game characters to life.

The initial launch of Mekamon sold 500 bots, generating $7.5 million. Following this feat, he received support from various organisations including London Venture Partners ($10 million) and Reach Robotics signed a deal with Apple, securing exclusive sales in Apple stores.
Impressed his robots’ ability to show emotion with subtly-calibrated movements, Apple priced his four-legged ‘battle-bots’ at $300 and has put them in nearly all of its stores in the United States and Britain.

Amongst the many recognitions he got, Adekunle was named “Someone to Watch in 2018” by the Black Hedge Fund Group, he was also recognized by Forbes on its 30 under 30 list for European Technology.
